ANNOUNCEMENT! New Way of Predictions - LOOK!

This is getting embarassing.. Predictions going nowhere and i'm made to eat my words. From today onwards, I will post predictions only right before the match starts and it can be from ANY LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!

Look out for tips on this space. If in doubt, fellow punters are welcomed to wait and see the accuracy of my predictions in the next few matches before placing trust on my tips again.

The several reasons for this is that -

1. I realise my predictions work better on other leagues compared to just EPL though it may be the best league in the world.

2. Predictions are more accurate nearing the kick-off time.

3. Reason why i didn't do this earlier - inconvenience for me as I have to be in front of a computer and start posting whenever I have finish analyzing the teams.

*Note -
As my predictions can now be from ANY LEAGUE in the world, it means I will post even late at night, so check constantly to make sure u do not miss out on the match!

EPL Sunday - 24th Aug 08

Disappointing disappointing. Arsenal's lost to Fulham and Villa's lost to Stoke are absolutely disgraceful. Not many people would buy against Arsenal or Villa and to think they actually lost to the minnows, kind of mean that quite a few punters out there lost money on this 2 matches. I'm not exclude, but luckily for me, Newcastle and Everton saved my ass.

Here's today's prediction -

Wigan vs Chelsea (1 1/4 : 0)
The Blues are playing tremendous, flowing football under new manager Scolari. Wigan might find it hard to defend against the barrage of attacks from the talented attackers from Chelsea. Steve Bruce's Wigan has taken some points off the 'Big 4' last season with Arsenal and Liverpool being held to a draw at JJB Stadium. During a crucial match at Stamford Bridge last season, which would decide who would be the Premier League Champions, Emile Heskey's last grasp goal held the Blues to a 1-1 draw and eventually cost them the Premier League title.

However, I do not see Steve Bruce repeating that stunt. It was an achievement when he took points off Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea therefore handing his close friend, Sir Alex Ferguson the title. This season, Scolari introduced a different kind of football to the league and Steve Bruce would not be able to access and lay out a defensive plan to stop Chelsea. It will be the same as when Jose Mourinho first took over Chelsea, introduced a new type of playing and way of winning games. Back the Blues to steamroll past Wigan.

Verdict - Chelsea to beat the 1 1/4 odds.

23rd Aug 08 - EPL Saturday Tips!

Hello fellow punters, its EPL Saturday again! I'm can't wait for the first match to kick off. Time for soccer, beer and money making! Let us see the best tips for the matches on Saturday -

Newcastle vs Bolton (0 : 1/2)
The Magpies looks good last week against Champions Man United. The signing of defender Fabricio Coloccini has seemed to solve Newcastle's past defensive woes and Jonas Gutierrez pace and skill troubled Man United's defense the whole of 90 minutes. There's no player of Ferdinand or Vidic calibre in Bolton and I'm sure Gutierrez will be able to open his account for the Magpies if he performs like he did last week. Another boost to Newcastle would be Owen's return to fitness after shaking off a calf-injury. As for Bolton, their record signing Johan Elmander looks to spearhead the attack. Bolton looked good winning newly promoted side Stoke last week, however, its Stoke and Stoke is no Magpies.

Verdict - Take the Magpies to soar at their home turf.

Stoke vs Aston Villa (o : 3/4)
Phycial presence of John Carew, speed and trickery of Ashley Young and deadly finishing of Agbonlahor. Throw in want-away Barry pulling the strings in midfield, I see a side capable of pushing for the Top 4. Enough said. Point is, the Villians will win.

Verdict - Villian win!

West Brom vs Everton (0 : 0)
Not for Arsenal's wasteful finishing last week, West Brom would have lost by a greater margin. If not for Ooijer's extra time goal, Everton would have share the spoils. Everton has quite a few members suffering from injuries and with no success in the transfer market, they look short of manpower. However, their first team of new sensation Jose Baxter, Leon Osman, Arteta and Yakubu should be enough to overcome West Brom. The usually water-tight defense of Everton was breeched three times last week, but i firmly believe it is a one off matter. Everton's experienced back four consisting of Tony Hibbert, Joleon Lescott, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines should hold West Brom at bay.

Verdict - Toffees to win to by a small margin.

Fulham vs Arsenal (3/4 : 0)
Opening match of 2-1 lost against newly promoted Hull underline Fulham's leaky defense. If Hull can put 2 past Fulham, I don't see how Arsenal wouldn't. Arsenal got a boost ahead of the match as Samir Nasri shook off a thigh problem and Alexander Song is back into contention after his return from the Olympic Games. Robin Van Persie looked good for his country over the international friendly where he scored a splendid goal. Count on him to score his first goal tonight against Fulham and Adebayor to open his account too.

Verdict - Arsenal to win, without a doubt.

97% WINNING RATE!

Recently, i stumbled upon this extremely unbelievable book. A book all punters who wants to successfully beat the bookmakers in their own game and earn easy bucks should invest in.

The book is call - "Discover The Explosive Secrets How To Win 97% Of Your Sports Bets From A Statistics Doctorate And Betting Professional"

An extremely accurate study of sports statistics. I am now recommending this book to all of pundits out there. Everything you need to know about the book and the author is written in the website itself. Take a look at the book here.

Olympics - Fighting for the Scraps (Bronze)

Let us side track a wee little bit from Saturday's EPL to today's Olympics soccer.

Its the day before the finale of Olympics soccer where Nigeria's up-coming youngsters will pit themselves against the superstars of Argentina, many whom already have top-flight first team experience with their respective clubs. Now, let us not get ahead of ourselves and look at the match which will decide who will fly home with at least a Olympics bronze medal. (Not that its an indication of success or glory for the brazilians; for the Belgiums, probably.)

Well well.. Its down to fighting for scraps and its Brazil vs Belgium. In the opening game of the qualifying group stages, Brazil had to work hard and barely scrape through with a slim 1-0 win over Belgium. The odds on offer by most betting companies now is Brazil 0 : 1 1/4 Belgium. Pundits are predicting a back lash from Brazil after suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat at arch-rivals Argentina. Well well, i say, go with the flow!

Belgium is no Argentina, not even close. Brazil will want to win this so as to redeem whatever little pride they can get. Just by looking at statistics alone, we can roughly tell how well the team is doing. Brazil has scored a whoping 11 goals in this competition, the most goals scored as a team in this competition as compared to Belgium's 7. Brazil's defense is holding well, conceding only 3 goals (all 3 in the Argentina match), as compared to Belgium who leaked 7 goals so far.

After looking at team statistics, now we'll dissect the information and look at individuals. Brazil has 8 players who has scored in the competition so far. 3 of them has scored 2 goals - Ronaldinho, Rafael Sobis and Thiago Neves. The other 5 players has contributed 1 goal each. As for Belgium, they have only 4 players scoring in the competition. Dembele Moussa leading with 3, Mirallas Kevin with 2 and two others with 1 goal each. This statistics show that Belgium are very dependent on a small number of players to play well and score the winning goal, unlike Brazil, who spreads their goal scoring responsibility all over the field. Everyone shares the burden of scoring and they gladly chip in with a goal or two.

Although the previous meeting between Brazil and Belgium ended in Brazil only winning by a slim margin of 1-0, we must remember it was the first match, therefore the momentum is not there yet. As they advance through the competition, Brazil has grown from strength to strength. Count of Ronaldinho and Co. to fight and win Belgium to claim the remaining Bronze medal.

Verdict: Brazil to beat the 1 1/4 handicap.

Exciting Nigeria, Disappointing Brazil

Constant attacking playing style combined with lethal finishing, Nigeria gave Belgium a 4-1 whipping. As i predicted, Belgium's defense without both their first choice centre back, could not cope with Nigeria's constant running and quick passing. Olubayo Adefemi scored for Nigeria as early as the 17th minute, keeping his composure to slot the ball home from a tight angle after receiving a pass in the penalty box. Nigeria's second goal came in the 59th minute when Obinna gain possession outside the Belgium penalty box and lay the ball on for an unmarked Obasi to volley home expertly. Obasi then proceed to help himself to a second goal with a spectacular drive from long range which crash into goal off the post. Okonkwo's 78th minute goal was the icing on the cake as Nigeria has stamped their passport to the finals. Belgium regained what's left of their little dignity when a thunderous freekick from Laurent Ciman when in.

Nigeria progressed to the finals in style, winning 4-1 at the end of 90 minutes.

The same cannot be said of Brazil who was overpowered and overwhelmed by winners Argentina 3-0. In what was deemed as the classic clash between two powerhouses, Brazil looked woefully poor. To concede 3 goals, score none and have 2 players sent off is a disgrace for the great samba nation who worship soccer. Though Argentina's first goal is some what lucky when a cross from the left deflected off striker Sergio Aguero's stomach into the net. As the chinese saying goes, luck and opportunity are self created through hardwork and Argentina had definately created their own luck.

It was luck that brought Argentina their first goal, but the same can't be said of the second when Aguero claimed his second goal with an expertly taken shot from close range. In the 75th minute, the game was effectively over when Rafinha brought Aguero down in the penalty box and Argentina skipper Juan Riquelme converted the resulting spot kick. 3-0 and Argentina was cruising on a comfortable lead. Unlike Belgium, who fought to regain what's left of their pride and dignity, Brazil chose to throw them all away when Lucas and Thiago Neves was red carded one after the other in a span of just three minutes. The manner of exit and discipline of field is a total embarassment for the footballing nation. With the bronze medal to fight for on Friday, let's hope the Brazil players can pick themselves up to at least put on a decent and disciplined performance.

Congratulations to Nigeria and Argentina who have advanced to the final where they will meet each other on 23rd August for the Finals showdown. May the best team win.

Olympics Semi Final

Olympics is drawing to an end and over the past few weeks, we've seen my records broken. The most famous and difficult one was probably the feat by US swimming Michael Phelps. He won 8 gold medals in Beijing and has a total of 16 Olympics medal, making him the record holder for the most gold medal won in a single Olympics and also the record holder for having the most Olympics medals. But, who cares? Who cares if Usian Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter ran a world record timing of 9.69seconds in the 100metre race to claim gold or China is leading the medal chart in the Olympics? We soccer fanatics only care about the soccer event in Beijing Olympics 2008.

Its the Semi-finals now and its its going to be Nigeria U23 vs Belgium U23 and Brazil U23 vs Argentina U23. I shall give my predictions and help fellow bettors out there win some cash.

Nigeria U23 vs Belgium U23 (0 : 1/4)
Belgium has performed remarkably well in this tournament, losing Brazil by a narrow margin of 1 goal in the first game, follow by a 2-0 over host country China and a 1-0 win over New Zealand, thus advancing to the quarter finals where they meet Italy. Italy was heavily tipped to win as they were one of the favourites of the tournament. However, Belgium apparantly did not read the script and proceed to win Italy 3-2 even after they were a man down in the 17th minute when Thomas Vermaelen was shown the red card to set up a Semi finals show down with Nigeria U23.

Nigeria has also performed superbly in this tournament, holding group favourites to a goal-less draw in the opening game and follow that up with two 2-1 wins over Japan and USA. In the quarter finals, Nigeria met fellow African nation Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and they won the game 2-0 to advance to the Semi-finals.

Both Belgium and Nigeria are the in form teams at the moment. Belgium coach Jean Francois De Sart has been unable to call on experienced centre back Vincent Kompany since the first match and now has lost another centre back, Thomas Vermaelen due to the red card he got in the previous match. This will be a big concern and headache for the coach. On the bright side, Belgium's striker Moussa Dembele has got 3 goals in the tournament so far and looks to add on to that tally. Belgium's greatest weapon is their team spirit and fast counter attack and this 2 factors is important to winning this match.

Nigeria too has a 3 goals hero in the form of Victor Obinna. Nigeria is an attacking team and they could be a double edged sword if they are not careful and are caught in a counter attack by the Belgiums. However, topping a difficult group in the group stages proves that Nigeria are no pushovers. Therefore, this should be a close and exciting match though Nigeria should edge out because of the absence of the regular centre-back in the Belgium's line-up.

Verdict: Nigeria to win by a small margin.

Argentina U23 vs Brazil U23 (0 : 1/4)
The battle of the 2 favourites in the tournament, reigniting the age-old rivalry between the 2 South America soccer countries. Both Brazil and Argentina have won all their games leading to the Semi-final and Brazil has yet to concede a goal.

This match will be a personal duet between several players of both teams. The battle between Brazil skipper Ronaldinho and Argentina skipper Juan Roman Riquelme will be the key to controlling the tempo and winning of the game. Other direct duet will be between young wizard Lionel Messi and Werden Bremen playmaker Diego; Alexandre Pato against Sergio Aguero. All four players are in the first team of their respective clubs.

This is a difficult match to bet on and it is best to avoid it. However, if I MUST place a bet on this match (due to the fact im watching it and betting on it makes it more exciting), i'll keep my faith in Ronaldinho and Co. Reason being this match is being seen as a classic match, which is NOT how i see it. I see it as a tactical game, both teams playing cautiously and attack without committing too many players in case there is a counter attack. The match might end up goal-less or one goal for each team and go into extra time.

Verdict: Brazil to hold Argentina to a draw or even sneak a win in normal time.

EPL 17th Aug 08

What a bad day for me yesterday. Turned out 2 of my most confident bets not only didn't yield me any income, they made me lose money. My less confident bets actually won. I wonder is it better to post all my predictions instead of just a few that I'm confident about.

Oh well, there's only 3 EPL matches today. Here goes,

Chelsea vs Portsmouth (0 : 1 1/4) - Chelsea to win by more than 1 goal.
Brazilian world cup winning coach Scolari is newly appointed as the new Chelsea manager. He brings with him a wealth of experience and Chelsea will be a dominant force to be reckon with. Deco and Anelka performed superbly during the pre-season showing much form and understanding.

Add in the lacklustre performance of Portsmouth in the Community Shield against Man U, I doubt they will be able to resist against the attacks of Chelsea. Need I say more?

Chelsea to win by more than 1 goal!

Aston Villa vs Manchester City (0 : 1/2) - Aston Villa to win!
Villa performed well in Europe which is the total opposite of what you can say about Manchester City. Man City is plagued with much backroom unrest and that is unsettling alot of the Man City players. Villa manager Martin O'Neill is a great master tactician and having manage to keep Barry Gareth, they will do well to overcome Man City.

All this points to a Aston Villa win!

I hope my tips will help all pundits out there to win big tonight! Happy betting!

First Day of EPL, First Predictions

Hi people,

Before I post my predictions, I would like to strongly encourage fellow pundits to bet with control. Although the matches can be analyzed, luck will still play a significant part. As the chinese saying goes, 'the ball is round' and anything can happen. All we can do is to bet on the matches with the highest winning probability by analzing the past results and present happenings which may affect the team.

As promised, I will now post the predictions which I am most confident with after analyzing all the matches. So, here goes...

Arsenal vs West Brom (0 : 1 3/4) - Arsenal to win by more than 2 goals.
This should be an exciting match to watch as both team are attack-minded. But, Arsenal should triumph by more than 2 goals at the end of 90mins.

Arsenal has a sturdy defense to reply on as their first team back 4 are all free of injuries. Centre defenders Toure and Captain William Gallas should do well to keep West Brom's attackers at bay while full-backs Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy will do well in ranpaging down the flanks to assist in the attack build-up.

Arsenal is not able to field Fabregas and Abou Diaby in this match as both are carrying short-term injuries. However, Arsenal's new signings, Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsey are set to make their EPL debut along with Denilson and Eboue completing the midfield. Samir Nasri is a full international with the French squad and expect to see him perform.

Arsenal did well in retaining the services of Adebayor who was Arsenal's top scorer last season with 24 goals and Dutchman Robin Van Persie managed to play in Euro 2008 while keeping free from injuries. The lethal partnership of Adebayor and Van Persie plays with strength, skills and flair, will be too much for West Brom's defence.

As for West Brom, they have a number of injuries to their first team members, namely Luke Moore, Koren and Clement while new signing
Zuiverloon is in Beijing for the Olympics. The absence of Clement, with new signing Abdoulaye Meite taking his place in the heart of defence will destablize the defence as they have not played together often enough to gain an understanding of each other's plays.

West Brom has also lost one of their most influential player in the form of Zoltan Gera, a Hungarian international, who moved on a free transfer to Fulham.

All the above points to a Arsenal win and winning in style they will.

Hull vs Fulham (0 : 0) - Fulham to win.
Recently promoted Hull vs regular relegation battler Fulham. However, there is a slight difference now and that is Fulham's manager Roy Hodgson. His tactical mastery and recent acquisition points to a season where their fans can finally cheer about and not suffer in silence, of the possibilty of the team you support may get relegated.

Goalkeepers Mark Schwarzer, Pascal Zuberbuhler and David Stockdale, defenders John Pantsil and Fredrik Stoor, midfielders Andranik Teymourian and Zoltan Gera and striker Bobby Zamora are all new signings at The Cottage.

Although Fulham will not have £10.5million new signing Andrew Johson available as he is injuried, Bobby Zamora, a proven quality in EPL should do well to score against Hull. Diomansy Kamara, David Healy and Brian McBride are all experienced strikers who will want to open their goal scoring account against Hull, a side not in top-flight since 104 years ago.

Fulham has much unchanged quality in midfield as Sean Davies, Clint Dempsey and Jimmy Bullard will run the show in the middle of the park. Throw in proven quality in the form of Hungarian international Zoltan Gera, Denmark international Leon Andreasen, experienced Danny Murphy and Alexey Smertin, I see a strong midfield who will overrun Hull in the middle of the park.

In the defense department, Fulham has Moritz Volz and Paul Konchesky, the 2 full-backs who will run riot overlapping the midfield to support the attack. Commanding Australian keeper, Mark Schwarzer will help marshal the defence and i expect him to keep a clean sheet. He is an undoubted quality with 11 years of EPL experience with Middlesbrough before signing for Fulham.

As for Hull, they have tried to sign players with EPL experience, namely defender Anthony Gardner, midfielder George Boateng and striker Marlon King. However, Hull manager Philip Brown has made eight new signings this season which would seriously unsettle the original team who won promotion to the top-flight. New signing would also new time to gel and gain understanding of teammate's movements. In the later part of the campaign, the new signings may prove to be a hit after the team gel together, but not the first match against a quality Fulham side.

Verdict: Fulham to win.

The above 2 matches are my most confident predictions. Happy Betting!

Soccer Fever!

Hey guys,

Soccer season is finally resuming! The English Premier League (EPL) kicking off first on the 16th of August (coming Saturday) with Arsenal vs West Brom as the starting match. Slowly but surely, soccer fever will gain momentum when the other 2 major leagues in the world, namely Italy's Serie A and Spain's La Liga kicking off on 30th and 31st of August respectively some 2 weeks later.

With the top 3 most lucrative soccer leagues starting its season of battling for their respective crowns (or battle for survival for some) and at the same time earning huge sums of money through sponsors and advertisement fees, its also time for us regular people of the world to earn some extra cash indirectly through the league.

My secret to earning extra cash indirectly through soccer, is to place bets on them. I have been placing bets regularly last season to earn some extra cash for my lightweight wallet and I dare say my hits has been pretty impressive. So much so that i haven't been taking money from my parents (I'm a poor student!) Therefore, I'm going to share my predictions and also include the reasons that led me to my final conclusions.

To all soccer fanatics out there, or non-soccer fanatics out there who just wants to earn some extra pocket money, do look out for this blog when Saturday arrives. Because that's when EPL starts and the money starts filling up!

Now, let me go do my research and calculations before i post again somewhere in Saturday afternoon.

Watch here for the predictions!
